What it does
Everything below is planned for launch unless it is marked After launch. patchmap is in development, so the line between the two can still move. It ships in stages, and every stage is usable on its own.
The worksheet
SHT LX-110A fast grid built for typing a rig in, not scrolling through one.
Grouped and sorted your way
Group by position, view by channel, universe or unit, edit in the cell, find and replace across everything.
Fast entry
Next number over a range, a start address plus a step, +N to shift channels, units or addresses, fill down, type-ahead from values already in the show, many rows at once.
Saved views
Sort, filter and columns saved one click away, with back and forward between them. Gaps in channel and address runs shown.
Subsets and tags
A saved set of conditions that the grid, the reports and the labels all respect. Tags hold several values per row.
Color
Row colors, colors per position that carry through to labels, colors by type, and highlight rules.
A summary that keeps up
Fixtures, DMX channels, console parameters and load for whatever is on screen.
A DMX table
One universe at a time, used and free addresses, overlaps marked. Pick a range and the worksheet filters to it.
Counted the way crews count
Lights counted by position and unit, so a scroller or a multi-cell strip on one unit counts as one light.
Your columns
Hide, rename and reorder every built-in column. Add typed columns of your own: number, choice list, yes or no, length, IP address, date. Column presets for concert, festival, theatre and video.
Import and sync
SHT LX-120Start from the drawing or from what you already have.
Vectorworks
Reads the Spotlight data exchange file with every field accounted for, and the desktop app follows the drawing as it saves.
MVR and GDTF
MVR import keeps positions, rotations and the GDTF profiles, so fixtures arrive with their real modes.
Spreadsheets
CSV or Excel with a column-matching screen and merge by channel. Patch written 1/62 or 1.062, both understood.
Other paperwork apps
Worksheet exports as tab or comma text. patchmap says which columns it recognised and keeps the rest. Switching guide.
Cleanup, never silent
Rows that were workarounds (a spare pin typed as a fixture, a data line typed as a circuit) are found on import and offered as real objects, each with a count and a preview.
Two-way Vectorworks After launch
Changes written back, a field map, merge by channel on a redrafted plot, and a clash screen field by field.
Fixture library
SHT LX-130Type a fixture, pick the mode, and the numbers follow.
One record per fixture and mode
DMX footprint, console parameters, watts, amps at 208 V and 120 V, weight, connector and fixtures per circuit. Seeded from open GDTF profiles.
Addressing that knows the footprint
Range addressing steps by the real footprint and warns before a fixture crosses 512.
Lookup tables
One per field, with long and short names. Rename once and every row follows; merge two entries; never remove one still in use.
Stock and weights
Used, owned and still to rent, per type and family. Truss weights per position, in pounds or kilograms. DIP switch settings worked out from each address.
Checks
SHT LX-140On from the first fixture, at levels that make sense.
On by default
Every check can be off, a warning or an error, and starts at a sensible level. The fix is one click from the row.
Real overlaps
Address overlaps checked with each fixture's actual mode. Effects are counted apart and never asked for a channel.
Required fields
Pick any column that must be filled and how loud it is. See at once how many rows miss it.
Positions in order
Duplicate or out-of-order unit numbers on a position, and missing symbols.
Power and cables
SHT LX-150From the company switch down to the jumper on the fixture.
Distro types
24, 48, 72 ways or any count; 208/120, 400/230 or 240/120; ABC, ACB or your own rotation; single, two or three pole; your own leg names; any breaker overridden.
Services above them
Company switches and generators with a capacity per leg, feeding a list of distros. Named phase patterns fill in a distro in one pick.
Loads as you patch
Amps per leg for every distro and service, overloads and unbalanced legs flagged, single-phase or three-phase rules.
Cable runs as data
Mults, single power, looms, DMX and network lines, made of real cables laid end to end with a total length.
Mults by clicking
Click fixtures in order to build a mult, twofers and daisy chains, spare circuits and home runs.
Counts and pull lists
Cable by type and length per position, looms, jumpers and spares, made from the show instead of counted by hand.
Dimmer racks
A dimmer rack is a distro that carries addresses, with a dimmer hookup for theatre-style shows.
Paperwork
SHT LX-160The book, in PDF and in a workbook that looks like one.
Every report you print today
Channel hookup, instrument schedule, address and universe schedule, patch sheets, circuit and soca schedule, distros and leg balance, services, cable lists, equipment counts.
Clean PDF
Letter or A4, title block, page X of Y per report, headers repeated, and a group heading never stranded at the foot of a page.
Styled Excel
Frozen and repeated headers, column widths, group headings, bold subtotals, flagged rows tinted, numbers kept as numbers.
Reports follow the show
Live data, nothing to refresh. Several saved versions of any report.
Page editor and templates After launch
Edit a report on a live page preview, your header and logo, and layouts saved to your account for every show.
Live and sharing
SHT LX-170Built on Uplink Live, the same rooms netmap runs on.
Ordered edits
Every change arrives in order. No last-keystroke-wins.
Presence
Cursors, Follow and claims, so you can see who is on which rows.
View-only crew
Studio shares a show with unlimited view-only crew, and private notes never reach them.
History
Per row: what changed, who and when. Go back to any earlier moment.
Offline
A queue on disk and a clean merge on reconnect.
Crew pages
The lighting book on phones at load-in (Studio).
Labels
SHT LX-180Labels from the rows you already typed.
Fixtures, power, cables
Fixtures, circuits, services, distros, breakers, mults, breakout tails, looms, plus dimmer and universe labels.
Colors by rule
Tied to a position or any field. Spares print in their own style.
Shared with the suite
The engine behind netmap's labels and labels.uplink.show. labels Pro included in every paid plan.
Video
SHT LX-190The same worksheet, power and live rooms, for the video side of the show.
LED walls After launch
Panel type, wall size in panels, pixel map, processors and the ports that feed each section, weight and power per wall.
Projectors After launch
Model, lens, throw and image size, blend and stack groups.
Media servers After launch
Which output feeds which processor or projector.
Signal flow After launch
SDI, HDMI, fiber and network routes with converters, as a list and as a drawing, on the same distros as the lighting.
Consoles and color
SHT LX-195From the worksheet to the desk and back.
Eos After launch
Live link over OSC: compare the patch both ways, push short labels, cue lists in and out, channels on and off from the grid for focus calls.
grandMA3 After launch
Push the patch with real fixture types and modes, and compare it with the desk.
MVR out After launch
MVR export with real GDTF profiles.
Color and gobos After launch
Color counts by frame size with cuts per sheet, gel catalogues with swatches, gobo counts, and wheels for moving lights.
Work notes and focus charts After launch
Notes tied to channels, positions and cues; focus charts per fixture, printed and on phones for the focus call.
With netmap
SHT LX-199One show for the lighting and the network that carries it.
Universes to nodes After launch
Each universe matched to a netmap node and port, with a warning for any universe with nowhere to go.
Duplicate IPs After launch
Caught across the whole shared show.
The trace view After launch
A fixture's network path and power path on one screen.
One set of distros After launch
Lighting and video power on the same distros and services, totalled up to the feeder.
